When COVID struck almost everyone I know that works in the arts made something related to this deeply unsettling, never before seen event. I chose to withdraw a bit and because I was out of work I had time on my hands and I spent my solitary days with music and sound design instead of my dear moving images. When Anna Gesualdi from Altofest called me to do something related to the lockdown days and the pandemic I said fist ‘no’ and after a short while I said ‘yes’. It was the moment for me to listen to the artists and what they went through. Dispatches from 202X is about them and the city of Naples and how a festival transforms while remaining true to itself.
